In the fall of 2004, Emily and Adam Sweet went to China, to Anping, the Horse Hair Capital of the World.  We spent some time at a horse hair sorting workshop.  We took pictures, asked questions and ordered some hair.  Since then, we have been back twice.  The first time we returned to talk about the specific problems with the hair in the first order, and to show the factory manager and his staff that we were very serious about quality of hair.  Adam spent a good amount of time with the workers, showing them how the hair should be sorted.  The most recent visit was in January.  At that time, we were invited by the Mayor of the city of Anping to a celebration dinner.  We also ordered some more hair.

Well I got what I want!  I'm finally off the Gold's Gym project and back to working for myself again, which I am immensely happy about.  My wife is doing very well.  She's quite comfortable here now and has a good job where she's earning a decent income.

I have seven students: two mandolin, four fiddle and one guitar.  My band, Woodkerne, is gigging again. 

I found that I spend a good 6-8 hours a day on the internet.  I have various social networking sites I visit regularly for my music (myspace, tagworld), and for my consulting (techcrunch, anandtech, tweak3d).  There's so much to read now it's hard to keep up with it all.

My son is healthy and happy.  It's all good.

My tenant, Troy, invited us to barbeque this evening.  I purchased some chicken and made up a batch of spicy rub to go with it.  He invited his girlfriend Rachel over and I invited John who brought his banjo and a tub of hot wings he made himself.  After some tunes and some grillin' we all sat around the table on the deck, drank samoans and ate grilled chicken, beef, and corn, delicious melon and talked.  There were 4 cultures represented tonight and man we had a fascinating conversation.

The food was good, the company better.

It's raining again - agh!  I had put the sleeping bags out on the deck to dry and air out from being stored in the barn all year.  It's the 4th of July and Emily and I are planning a cookout tonight with our neighbor and some friends...so I went to buy chicken for the barby - when I came out of Stop & Shop the parking lot was a huge puddle and it was raining so hard I was instantly drenched!

So I got home and the bags were soaked through and through.  Now I have to dry them out AGAIN!  Agh! Agh! Agh!
